Ria Money Transfer Tracking: Order Number Lookup and Status
Ria money transfer tracking works with one of two numbers: the order number or the PIN. Enter either on the Ria Track a Transfer page and it returns the current status of the transfer. Both numbers sit in the confirmation email and on the receipt, according to that same Ria page, checked as of October 2026.
The status name tells you where the money is. Ria's blog post on what each Ria transfer status means lists eight states, from Processing to Cancelled, along with what the sender should do at each one. This guide covers where the numbers are, what every status means, how long each stage usually takes, and what to do when a transfer stalls.
Where do you find the Ria order number and PIN?
The order number and the PIN both appear in the confirmation email, in the online account, in the Ria app, and on the paper receipt from a Ria location. Either one works for tracking. The order number identifies the transfer to Ria support, and the PIN is what a cash pickup recipient needs to collect.
Per the Ria Help Center article on the difference between the order number and PIN, as of October 2026, app users find both on the Home screen by tapping Details on the transfer. Web account users open the Activity tab, then Transfer details, then Summary. On a paper receipt from an in-person transfer, the PIN sits in the top right-hand corner, just below the order number.
The same Ria Help Center article notes a Share Order Details button that sends the PIN to the recipient by text, WhatsApp or email right after the transfer is created.
Order number vs PIN: which one do you use?
Use either number to track online. Give the order number when you contact Ria, since that is how support identifies the transfer. Give the PIN only to a cash pickup recipient, because the pickup counter will not release cash against the order number alone.
Task | Number to use | Source |
Track online or in the app | Order number or PIN
Contact Ria customer service | Order number
Recipient collects cash at a Ria location | PIN plus government-issued photo ID |
Ria's tracking guide also calls the order number a reference number in places and says the online form asks for it together with the sender's last name. The current Ria Track a Transfer form, as fetched in October 2026, shows a single field labeled PIN or order number.
Where can you track a Ria transfer?
There are four ways to check a Ria transfer: the website tracker, the Ria app, a phone call to customer service, and a visit to a Ria store or agent. The website and app give an instant status. Phone and in-person checks go through a person who looks up the same record.
According to Ria's blog post on how to track a Ria transfer, app users log in with the account that sent the money, tap Transfers, and select the transfer to see its status and next steps. Phone checks need the reference number. In-person checks at a Ria location need the reference number and a valid ID. The website tracker is the Ria Track a Transfer page, which needs no login.
What does each Ria transfer status mean?
Ria uses eight consumer statuses. Three describe money in motion, three describe a finished delivery by method, and two describe exceptions. The status tells the sender whether to wait, tell the recipient to collect, or contact Ria. The table below lists each one with the action Ria recommends.
The definitions below follow Ria's own post, How to Track Your Ria Transfer (And What Each Status Means), published August 2025 and checked as of October 2026.
Status | What it means | What to do |
Processing | Ria has the order and payment details and is preparing the transfer. | Wait. Act only if it stays here unusually long. |
In Progress | The money is moving through Ria's system to the delivery method. | Wait. Bank hours, time zones or security checks can slow it. |
Ready for Pickup | Cash is available at the chosen pickup location. | Tell the recipient to bring valid ID and the PIN. |
Deposited to Bank | The money has been deposited to the recipient's bank account. | Allow a few hours for the bank to show it. |
Delivered to Mobile Wallet | Funds are in the recipient's mobile wallet. | Nothing. The recipient can spend or withdraw. |
Completed | The transfer is fully processed and closed. | Nothing. |
On Hold | Ria needs more information or is reviewing the transfer. | Contact customer service and answer any Ria email. |
Cancelled | Stopped by the sender, the recipient, or Ria's rules. | Expect a refund within 3 to 10 business days, per Ria. |
Ria's help pages also use the word paid. The Ria Help Center article My transfer is paid, but my recipient hasn't received it says Ria marks a transfer paid once it has sent the money. For cash pickup, paid means the recipient has already collected it.
How long does a Ria transfer take?
Ria transfer time depends mostly on how the sender pays. Card and cash payments start the transfer fastest, while bank account funding adds several business days before Ria even has the money. Delivery method, weekends, local holidays and security reviews can each add time on top of that.
The figures below come from the Ria Help Center article How long do transfers take? and its companion paid but not received page, both checked as of October 2026. Home delivery needs extra time beyond these, per Ria.
Stage | Typical time | Source |
Card payment reaches Ria | 15 minutes to 3 hours
Bank account payment reaches Ria | Up to 4 business days
Cash payment processed | One business day from receipt
Receiving bank deposits after paid | Up to 2 working days
Mobile wallet credit after paid | Usually instant, up to 24 hours |
One rule catches cash senders out: Ria cancels the order if cash payment does not arrive within one day of the transfer being confirmed. For fee differences between these payment methods, see the sibling guide on Ria fees.
Why is my Ria transfer on hold?
A Ria transfer goes on hold when Ria needs more information before sending it. Common requests are verifying the bank account used to pay or updating a phone number or address. The transfer is released once the information is provided and approved, so a fast reply is the quickest fix.
Per the Ria Help Center article Why is my transfer on hold?, Ria emails the next steps. Senders who paid in person at a Ria location and have no email on file get a call on their registered phone number instead. Ria's delay page adds that repeat senders can still be reviewed and suggests checking the spam folder for Ria's request.
Why hasn't my recipient received a paid transfer?
A paid status means Ria has sent the money, but the receiving bank or wallet may still be crediting it. The deposit may also show under Ria's name rather than the sender's, so the recipient can miss it. Confirming the account details and the payer name usually explains the gap.
The Ria Help Center article on paid transfers not yet received says deposits appear as coming from RIA Financial Services or a partner, not the sender. It also notes that a recipient bank or intermediary may deduct a fee before crediting the account. If the money still cannot be found, the sender can ask Ria for a payment confirmation that the recipient's bank can use to trace the transfer.
What if you lost the order number?
Without the order number or PIN, the online tracker cannot find a transfer. Online senders can recover both from the app or web account history. Walk-in senders without an online account should contact Ria customer service with their personal details and the transfer details so an agent can look it up.
Ria's tracking FAQ confirms that a reference number is required and that customer service can help when it is lost. Searching the inbox for the original confirmation email is often faster, since Ria's order number and PIN article says both numbers are printed there.
What if a cash pickup is not collected?
Cash pickup funds wait at the location for a limited period rather than indefinitely. If the recipient cannot collect in time, the sender should contact Ria before that window closes. Changing the delivery method after sending is generally not possible, so a missed pickup usually means an extension or a refund.
Ria's tracking guide says cash pickup locations typically hold funds for 30 to 90 days and that extensions may be possible. The same post says delivery methods lock once the transfer is submitted.
Where tracking falls short
The tracker shows status, not cause. An On Hold or In Progress label does not say which document Ria wants or which bank is slow. Paid also does not mean the money is visible in the recipient's account yet. For those details, the sender's email inbox and Ria support remain the real source.
The Ria delay page says recipient bank processing can take up to two days and is outside Ria's control. The online Ria Track a Transfer form also runs a browser verification check, which can fail on some privacy-hardened browsers; the app is the alternative.
What this page does not cover
This guide covers tracking and statuses only. It does not compare Ria's fees or exchange rates, list per-country send limits, or rank Ria against other providers. Ria pricing is covered in the companion fees guide, and other providers have their own tracking guides in this knowledge base.
For the MoneyGram equivalent, see MoneyGram Tracking. Related: Ria fees. For what a pending bank entry means on the recipient side, see What Is a Pending Transaction.
Methodology and sources
All statuses, numbers and timeframes come from Ria's own pages, fetched on October 21, 2026: the Ria Track a Transfer page, the Ria blog post on transfer statuses, and Ria Help Center articles on order number and PIN, transfer times, delays, holds and paid transfers. Ria can change these at any time, so the live pages take precedence.
