Venmo Limits 2026: Daily, Weekly and Instant Transfer Caps

As of October 2026, a verified Venmo personal profile can send up to $60,000 per rolling week, while an unverified one is capped at $299.99, according to Venmo's payment limits page. Venmo does not publish a separate daily limit; nearly every cap is a rolling weekly limit, and verified users can move up to $19,999.99 a week to a bank in transfers of no more than $5,000 each, per Venmo's bank transfer limits page.

The number that applies to you depends on three things: whether you have finished identity verification, whether you are using a personal or business profile, and which direction the money is moving. The sections below take each limit in turn, with the source page linked next to every figure.

What is the Venmo limit per week?

The weekly sending limit on a personal profile depends on identity verification. Unverified profiles get a small spending allowance that covers both payments to friends and purchases at approved merchants. Verifying your identity in the app raises the cap substantially. Venmo can still decline an individual payment for reasons unrelated to the limit.

Venmo's personal profile payment limits page sets the unverified weekly spending limit at $299.99, covering person to person payments and payments to approved merchants. The same page says a verified profile can send up to $60,000 per week.

To verify, Venmo's help page lists three taps in the app:

  1. Open the Me tab.

  2. Tap the Settings gear.

  3. Tap Identity Verification and follow the prompts.

Is there a Venmo limit per day?

Venmo does not list a separate daily cap for personal payments or bank transfers on its help pages. Instead, most limits are rolling weekly limits, so each transaction counts against your allowance for exactly seven days from the moment the payment went through. In practice, your effective daily room is whatever remains of the weekly figure.

The payment limits page gives a worked example: a payment sent Monday at 11:00 AM stops counting against your limit at 11:01 AM the following Monday. Someone searching for a "venmo limit per day" can therefore send most of the weekly amount in a single day, provided no single bank transfer exceeds the per transfer cap described below.

Venmo also says limits are reviewed periodically and can change based on account history and activity, including Venmo Mastercard debit card use, and that Venmo keeps sole discretion over them, per the same Venmo help page.

How much can you transfer from Venmo to your bank?

Transfers out to a bank follow their own limit, separate from the sending limit. Verified users get a higher weekly ceiling plus a cap on each individual transfer, so moving a large balance takes several transfers. Unverified users have a much lower weekly ceiling. Transfers can also be declined for reasons other than the limit.

Per Venmo's personal bank transfer limits page, an unverified profile can transfer up to $999.99 to a bank per week. A verified profile can transfer up to $5,000.00 per individual transfer and up to $19,999.99 per week, according to that Venmo page.

Venmo's standard bank transfers FAQ repeats the $5,000 per transfer rule and says users who need to move more must do so in increments of $5,000 or less. For instant transfers, the minimum is listed as $0.26 on the bank transfer limits page.

Venmo limits at a glance

The table collects the limits Venmo publishes for personal and business profiles. Every figure links to the help page where it appears. All amounts are rolling weekly limits unless the row says otherwise, and they reflect Venmo's help center as fetched in October 2026.

What are the Venmo instant transfer limits?

Instant transfers are one of two ways to move money out of Venmo. They differ from standard transfers in speed and cost: money usually lands within minutes rather than days, and Venmo deducts a percentage fee from each instant transfer. Only banks and debit cards enrolled in an instant payment service qualify.

Venmo's instant bank transfer FAQ says instant transfers typically arrive within 30 minutes and carry a 1.75% fee with a $0.25 minimum and a $25 maximum. The same Venmo FAQ says eligible destinations are U.S. bank accounts and Visa, Mastercard or Discover debit cards that participate in services such as Visa Fast Funds or Mastercard Send. Fees are covered in more detail in our Venmo fees breakdown.

Business profiles get larger per transfer ceilings for instant transfers. Per Venmo's business limits page, a verified business profile can send up to $10,000 per instant transfer to a debit card and up to $50,000 per instant transfer to a bank account, inside a weekly transfer limit of $49,999.99.

What are the limits on a Venmo business profile?

Business profiles carry their own limits, separate from the owner's personal profile, so business spending does not eat into personal allowances. Verification matters here too. There is no cap on how much a business profile can receive, though individual payments and transfers can still be declined.

According to Venmo's business profile limits page, an unverified business profile has a weekly payment limit of $2,499.99 and a weekly bank transfer limit of $999.99. Once verified, the same page lists $25,000 per week for payments to other Venmo users and $49,999.99 per week for transfers to a bank or eligible debit card.

That Venmo page also states there is no limit on the amount a business profile can receive.

Which Venmo limit applies to you?

Working out your own cap means answering a few questions in order: which profile type you are using, whether that profile is verified, and whether you are paying someone or moving money out to a bank. The decision path below maps those answers to the matching row in the table above.

  • Using a business profile?

    • If verified, check the business column of the table for payments and transfers.

    • If not verified, use the unverified business figures in the section above, then verify under Settings in the business profile.

  • Using a personal profile?

    • If paying people or merchants, the weekly payment limit applies.

    • If moving money to a bank or card, the weekly bank transfer limit and the per transfer cap apply.

    • If the profile is not verified, both limits sit at the unverified level until verification is complete.

  • Under 18 with a Venmo Teen Account? Separate rules apply; see Venmo's teen account limits page.

Where these limits fall short

Published limits are ceilings, not guarantees. Venmo says it can decline a payment or transfer for reasons other than the limit, and that it reviews and changes limits at its own discretion based on account history and activity. Your in app limit may therefore differ from the help center figure.

Three practical gaps are worth knowing. First, the rolling seven day window means a large payment on Monday reduces your room until the following Monday at the same minute, which can catch people out before rent day. Second, the personal per transfer cap means a large balance needs several transfers, per the standard transfers FAQ. Third, instant transfers depend on whether your bank or card participates in an instant payment network; if it does not, the instant transfer FAQ says the only fix is for your bank to enroll.

Frequently asked questions

How do I see my current Venmo limit?

Venmo shows limits in the app and on its help center. Because limits can change with account activity, the in app figure is the one that applies to you.

Does Venmo have a limit on receiving money?

For business profiles, Venmo states there is no receiving limit. The personal limits pages describe sending and transfer limits, not a receiving cap.

When does my Venmo weekly limit reset?

There is no fixed reset day. Each transaction drops off exactly one week after the transaction, per Venmo's rolling limits explanation.

Can I move a large balance to my bank in one transfer?

Not on a personal profile. Venmo's standard transfers FAQ says larger amounts must be sent in increments of $5,000 or less.

Who owns Venmo?

Venmo is part of PayPal. See who owns Venmo for the ownership history.

Sources and methodology

Every limit in this article comes from Venmo help center pages fetched on October 5, 2026: Personal Profile Payment Limits, Personal Profile Bank Transfer Limits, Business Profiles Payment and Bank Transfer Limits, Instant Bank Transfer FAQ and Standard Bank Transfers FAQ. Venmo says limits can change at its discretion, so check the app before a large payment.
