Revolut Ownership: Nik Storonsky, SoftBank and Tiger Global

Revolut is a private company whose largest named owner is Nik Storonsky, recorded by Companies House as holding more than 25% but not more than 50% of the shares in Revolut Group Holdings Ltd. The rest is held by venture and institutional investors, including SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Tiger Global, plus employees who hold equity.

Storonsky is the only person with significant control listed on the Companies House register for Revolut Group Holdings Ltd, notified on July 15, 2020, with the right to appoint or remove directors. Revolut's most recent share sale, completed November 24, 2025, valued the company at $75 billion, per Revolut's announcement. Here is what the filings and press releases show about each group of owners.

Who owns Revolut?

Revolut is owned by Nik Storonsky and other early holders, a long list of outside investors, and employees. Nik Storonsky is the only individual the UK register records as holding a significant stake. Investors named in Revolut releases include SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Tiger Global, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, Greenoaks, Dragoneer and Fidelity.

Revolut Group Holdings Ltd, company number 12743269, is the UK parent. Its persons with significant control page shows one active PSC, Mr Nikolay Storonskiy, whose nature of control is ownership of shares of more than 25% but not more than 50%, plus the right to appoint or remove directors. UK law requires a PSC entry for anyone above the 25% threshold, so the absence of other names means no other individual or entity is registered above that line.

Companies House reports bands, not exact figures. The band tells you Storonsky's stake sits somewhere between one quarter and one half. Any single percentage attributed to him in the press is an outside estimate and is not repeated here.

How much of Revolut does Nik Storonsky own?

According to Companies House, Nik Storonsky owns a banded share of Revolut Group Holdings Ltd. That band is the only primary-source figure available. Revolut has not published a precise percentage, and the register reports ownership in bands rather than exact stakes.

The PSC register records his band as more than 25% but not more than 50% of the shares. Storonsky's title has been consistent across Revolut's releases. The July 15, 2021 Series E release called him Founder and CEO, and the November 2025 release called him CEO and Co-founder.

His control extends beyond equity. The PSC entry also lists the right to appoint or remove directors, which gives him board influence that a pure shareholding band would not show.

Do SoftBank and Tiger Global own part of Revolut?

Yes. SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Tiger Global Management joined as new investors in a Revolut funding round in July 2021. Tiger Global later led a 2024 secondary sale as an existing investor. Neither firm's stake size has been disclosed by Revolut.

The Series E release says the round "brings onboard two new investors, SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Tiger Global Management," and quotes Karol Niewiadomski of SoftBank Investment Advisers and Scott Shleifer of Tiger Global.

Tiger Global came back in 2024. The August 16, 2024 secondary share sale release says the round was led by Coatue, D1 Capital Partners and existing investor Tiger Global, at a $45 billion valuation. SoftBank is not named in the 2024 or 2025 releases, so this page cannot confirm from Revolut sources whether SoftBank has since added to or reduced its position.

The 2024 deal also shows who arranged the trade. Revolut said Morgan Stanley served as sole placement agent, and that it had reported 2023 revenue of $2.2 billion and profit before tax of $545 million, per the August 2024 release. Those results were the backdrop investors priced when buying employee shares at the $45 billion mark.

How have Revolut's share sales changed its ownership?

Revolut's recent deals have been share sales that let employees sell stock to incoming investors. These move shares from employees to funds without the company raising new primary capital, so they reshuffle who owns Revolut rather than diluting existing holders. Revolut says it has run five employee share sales.

The November 24, 2025 release says current employees could sell in the transaction and that Revolut has now enabled five share sales for employees. It lists Andreessen Horowitz, Franklin Templeton, T. Rowe Price Associates and NVentures, NVIDIA's venture arm, among participants.

Is Revolut a public company?

No. Revolut is privately held and its shares do not trade on any exchange. Investors buy through private rounds and share sales, and employees sell through company-run programs. Because it is private, the main public sources on ownership are Companies House filings and Revolut's own announcements.

Revolut still publishes audited results. The November 2025 release reported 2024 revenue of $4.0 billion, up 72%, and profit before tax of $1.4 billion. Filings for the parent, including its PSC entries, are searchable on the Companies House register.

Where the public record falls short

The UK register gives a band, not a number, for Storonsky and lists no other person with significant control. Revolut names investors but not stake sizes. Holdings of other early team members do not appear on the PSC register, so their size cannot be stated from primary sources.

  • Banded disclosure. The Companies House band of more than 25% but not more than 50% is a wide range. It is the most precise primary figure available.

  • SoftBank status unclear. SoftBank appears as a 2021 investor, but Revolut's 2024 and 2025 releases do not mention it.

  • Investor stakes undisclosed. No release states the percentage held by Tiger Global, Coatue or any other fund.
