Uniswap is the largest DEX by 30-day spot volume, at $87.5 billion as of October 6, 2026 per DefiLlama, more than three times second-place PancakeSwap at $28.2 billion per DefiLlama. Jupiter, Aerodrome and Raydium round out the top five, with every figure below pulled from DefiLlama on October 6, 2026.
Best DEXs ranked by 30-day volume
The ranking below sorts spot DEXs by trailing 30-day trading volume, the clearest signal of where traders actually swap. Volume shifts month to month, so treat the order as a dated snapshot. Each row links the volume figure and the fee to the source it came from, so you can recheck either one before trading.
Rank | DEX | Main chains | 30-day volume (Oct 6, 2026) | Swap fee and source |
1 | Uniswap | Ethereum and other EVM chains | $87.5B, per DefiLlama | v3 tiers 0.05%, 0.30%, 1%; v4 pools set any fee, per Uniswap Developers |
2 | PancakeSwap | BNB Chain and others | $28.2B, per DefiLlama | v3 tiers 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25%, 1%, per PancakeSwap Docs |
3 | Jupiter (aggregator) | Solana | $14.9B, per DefiLlama | Underlying pool fees on the route, per Jupiter Developer Docs |
4 | Aerodrome | Base | $14.4B, per DefiLlama | Set per pool, per Aerodrome |
5 | Raydium | Solana | $9.9B, per DefiLlama | CLMM tiers 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25%, 1%, per Raydium Docs |
6 | Orca | Solana | $8.0B, per DefiLlama | Set per pool, per Orca |
7 | Meteora | Solana | $7.0B, per DefiLlama | Set per pool, per Meteora |
8 | Hyperliquid (spot) | Hyperliquid L1 | $4.6B, per DefiLlama | Fee schedule by volume tier, per Hyperliquid Docs |
9 | Curve | Ethereum and other EVM chains | $3.1B, per DefiLlama | Set per pool, per Curve |
10 | Balancer | Ethereum and other EVM chains | $260M, per DefiLlama | Set per pool, per Balancer |
Total spot DEX volume across all protocols was $305.6 billion over the same 30 days, per DefiLlama. Jupiter is ranked by routed volume because it is an aggregator, per DefiLlama, and the Solana AMMs it routes into are listed separately.
How we ranked these DEXs
Volume is the ranking input because it reflects real usage rather than marketing. Fees come only from each protocol's own documentation, since aggregator sites often round or lag. Perpetual futures venues are left out of the main table because leveraged notional volume is not comparable to spot swap volume.
Volume figures are DefiLlama protocol totals that combine every version of a DEX, read on October 6, 2026, for example Uniswap v3 at $43.4 billion plus Uniswap v4 at $42.4 billion per DefiLlama. Where a protocol docs page does not publish a fixed fee tier, the table says the fee is set per pool and links the protocol.
1. Uniswap
Uniswap leads spot DEX volume by a wide margin, and its newest version now carries close to half of that flow. The v4 design lets each pool attach hooks, custom code that runs around swaps, and lets pool creators choose fees freely instead of picking from a short menu of fixed tiers.
Uniswap cleared $87.5 billion in 30-day volume, split between v3 at $43.4 billion and v4 at $42.4 billion, per DefiLlama. Uniswap v4 went live on January 31, 2025 across 10 chains, per the Uniswap Labs blog. The standard v3 fee tiers are 0.05%, 0.30% and 1%, while v4 pools can set any fee from 0% to 100% or use dynamic fees through hooks, per Uniswap Developers.
2. PancakeSwap
PancakeSwap is the largest DEX on BNB Chain and the clear second place overall. Most of its volume now runs through its concentrated-liquidity v3 pools, with its newer Infinity release adding a meaningful share. Its fee menu adds a middle tier between the common stable and volatile tiers.
PancakeSwap recorded $28.2 billion in 30-day volume, including $19.2 billion on its v3 AMM and $6.8 billion on PancakeSwap Infinity, per DefiLlama. Exchange v3 pools use four fee tiers of 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25% and 1%, and v2 pools charge a fixed 0.25%, per PancakeSwap Docs.
3. Jupiter
Jupiter is not a single pool venue. It is the main aggregator on Solana, splitting each trade across Raydium, Orca, Meteora and other pools to find the best price. For most Solana traders it is the front door, so its routed volume is a good read on Solana swap demand overall.
Jupiter routed $14.9 billion in aggregator volume over 30 days, per DefiLlama. Fees on a Jupiter swap are the fees of the underlying pools on the route, and integration details are in the Jupiter Developer Docs.
4. Aerodrome
Aerodrome is the largest DEX on Base. It uses a vote-escrow model where locked AERO holders direct token emissions to pools and collect those pools' fees, which pulls liquidity toward the pairs voters rate highest. Its concentrated-liquidity Slipstream pools now carry almost all of its volume.
Aerodrome recorded $14.4 billion in 30-day volume, of which Slipstream accounted for $13.9 billion, per DefiLlama. Fees are set per pool and shown on Aerodrome.
5. Raydium
Raydium is the largest standalone AMM on Solana by this measure, and it also runs LaunchLab, a token launch venue where new tokens trade on a bonding curve before moving to a regular pool. Its concentrated pools let creators pick from a menu of fixed tiers.
Raydium recorded $9.9 billion in 30-day volume, per DefiLlama. Its CLMM pools use common fee tiers of 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25% and 1%, with 84% of the trading fee going to liquidity providers, per Raydium Docs.
6 to 10: Orca, Meteora, Hyperliquid spot, Curve and Balancer
The lower half of the top ten mixes two more Solana AMMs, the spot side of an exchange better known for perpetuals, and two older Ethereum protocols. Curve still specializes in pools for assets that should trade near one another, like stablecoins, while Balancer supports pools with more than two tokens.
Orca recorded $8.0 billion in 30-day volume per DefiLlama, and Meteora $7.0 billion per DefiLlama. Hyperliquid spot recorded $4.6 billion per DefiLlama, with fees set by volume tier per Hyperliquid Docs. Curve recorded $3.1 billion per DefiLlama, and Balancer $260 million per DefiLlama.
What about perpetual futures DEXs?
Perpetual futures DEXs are ranked on a different scale, because leveraged notional volume dwarfs spot swap volume and the trading model is an order book rather than a pool. Hyperliquid is the best known of these venues, and its perp fees follow a tier schedule based on trailing volume.
At the base tier, Hyperliquid perps charge 0.045% taker and 0.015% maker, per Hyperliquid Docs. For how positions are closed out when margin runs low, see Hyperliquid liquidations explained.
How to choose a DEX
Start from the chain your funds already sit on, since that decides which venues you can reach without bridging. On a given chain, an aggregator usually beats picking one pool by hand. Then compare the fee tier of the pool your trade actually routes through, because the same pair can trade at several fee levels.
If your stablecoins are on one chain and the DEX you want is on another, a cross-chain routing layer is needed before the swap; see best intent-based routing protocols for how Eco Routes and alternatives handle that leg.
